2 weeks

I can't wait for the 2 weeks holiday right after exams! Just so happen that my 3 good friends - junguang, Shaun and junhao will be in the same country too!!!

This is gonna be my first backpacking trip and the longest overseas trip.

*excited*

Give a little help whenever you can

Giving help to random strangers can brighten up someone else's and your day.

Incident 1:
While leaving dhoby ghaut mrt station heading for SMU social night, saw this girl looking at the map, looking lost. Initiated to ask where she's going and directed her to the Cathay which is like just right opposite the road. She gave a very grateful thank you after that. :)

Incident 2:
Boarding my usual bus to meet Ellene for study session and chance upon this family with 3 young kids. The couple talked very loud and talking bout going to Chinatown but they have no idea which way is the fastest. Again, being kaypo, i mean helpful. I told them the fastest way to chinatown, where to alight and change bus. They were very thankful and thank me when they alight the bus.

It's just a little gesture that can brighten up someone's day. :)

Hope

It's the second try. Crossing our fingers. :)

It's confirmed

Yes it is. I'm excited!

The little bling thats hanging on my neck

Birthday gift from bf was a Tiffany & Co white gold diamond necklace. When I received it I was elated! :) I was quite surprise that he knows what kinda necklace the I like. Anyways this picture is too pixelated. Took with my iPhone4 with lamp shining on me while I take the shot.

Birthday over for 2 month already and I have yet to get pictures from my BF! Zzz!
Anyways, This year's birthday was different, no counting down in clubs, just you and me.
:)

Last day of CNY - Jiak Ho Liao @ Paradise Pavilion

Thanks to bf cousin's husband we all get to eat real good food over at Paradise Pavilion at Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC). This is the best 9 course Chinese food that I've eaten in my whole life.

The husband is super sweet! Surprised the birthday girl with a bouquet of 99 roses! I have never seen such HUGE bouquet in my whole life!!!

First up! Yu Sheng, Lady fluent in chinese said all the good things before we lao yu sheng!

LAO AH! HUAT AH!

Good yusheng jiu shi good yusheng!
Its so freaking delicious! I could eat the whole big plate of it! I think chinese restaurant should have Yu sheng on their menu. I wannna eat it whenever I want!

Shark's fin. Although I personally do not really fancy shark's fin soup but this is so damn good! The soup do not require any pepper or vinegar, the thickness and the flavor of the soup is indescribable! The hot stone kept the shark's fin soup hot. I love my soup hot hot! ;p  The popiah stick was to stir, seriously its also delicious, the crispiness and the fillings in side. YUM!

Next up, Beijing Pecking duck roasted with Apple tree wood with fire brick oven and the chef was slicing the duck and serve us immediately. The skin got to eat with sugar. then the rest of the meat with the sauce and wrap with the skin.

Oatmeal and salted egg yolk prawns - BEST COMBI EVER

Good stuff are hidden in that beancurd skin - dried scallop, dried oyster , fa chai...

Fish - not really a fan of fish.
Bf's fam say the fish is very fresh!

This noodle is extra Q. not just any ordinary noodle! AMAZED! It's called mashed fish noodle. It's Mich's fav! and look at how huge the scallop is! *GASP* and so soft, melt in your mouth. I REALLY WANT SOME OF IT NOW!

DESSERT : i took bf's share of the soup. *slurp* the rice cake is indeed extraordinary, filled with coconut sweet taste.

By the end of the dinner. My stomach was SOOOOO HUGE! But its all WORTH IT.
Very thankful to get to go for dinners and lunches with bf's family all the time. Blessed :)

Brunch at Choupinette

Brunch at Choupinette along Bt Timah road next to Coronation Plaza after my marketing paper was a real treat! :) Bf came to pick me up from school and say lets go for brunch so I suggested this place.

On our way there he kept on complaining that I went to Rider's cafe before but not with him. This boy.. Tsk!

I order Eggs Benedict. It's way better than Hatched and I love the fatty Hollandaise sauce. I must improvise my hollandaise sauce cos this is so much better!

The other time I visited Choupinette was with my parents and I've been wanting to try lemon meringue, wanna know how it actually taste like.
Lemon Meringue Pie
I find it okay only. Not really to my liking.

BF and his mocha
Choupinette Eggs Benedict is $22 ++ with a glass of fruit juice and a hot drink.
Lemon Meringue was around $7

Homebaked Salted Caramel cupcakes

Salted caramel is my all time fav cupcakes! I always love to make whatever that I like to eat myself. It's always cheaper to cook or bake at home. Since I have most of the ingredients at home. I just had to twist the red velvet cupcake recipe by changing normal sugar to brown sugar and not putting in cocoa powder and the cupcakes came out not bad.

The best part is, I made my own caramel!!! Woot! Didn't know that just adding sugar and water and heating it, you'll get caramel. And so I added my frosting with caramel and salt, and ta da! I have my salted caramel frosting.

This frosting melts too easily as Singapore's weather is too warm! I need to find a new recipe that won't melt this easily. Nevertheless, the frosting is good!!

I lost my piping tip. :( the one with the nice swirl I did for my red velvet. Zzz. Gonna get a replacement soon! Anyways it's from Daiso. Cheap but good!!

Boyfriend tasted my cupcakes says its not bad and not too sweet. Yay! He says compared to outside. Mine's better cos its not overly sweet. Happy!

Later that night we went to my Dad's company gathering at NTUC club. It's funny to see how all the uncles and Indian workers dance on the dancefloor. Once is enough. I'm never going there anymore. Haha.

Homebaked Red Velvet cupcakes

Third time that I baked red velvet cupcakes. It came out better than the previous time that I baked for Doug's family. Look at how pretty the frosting are! Daiso $2 plastic piping tip works well too!

This time is for my friends that are coming over for steamboat :) They love the cupcakes and I'm so delighted! Shaun and boon yen was like eating it one after another. Yay!

Thanks people for coming down to my place and have this gathering. It's beer a long time since we all gathered. Very glad that you guys enjoyed yourself. Lets gather again after prelims. :)

Homecooked Eggs Benedict

A couple of weeks ago, I made D stayed over my place and made him breakfast in bed. I made EGGS BENEDICT w mustard potato salad as sides. I'm so proud of myself. Weeeee!

D always say he love his aunty's potato salad. I tried it once and is able to replicate it. I research on google and did the potato salad the night before. Russet potatoes are so hard to cook! The inside wasn't cooked, had to cook it with rice cooker again. The potato salad turn out not bad just that the next time I gotta cook potato longer.

As for eggs benedict, I used whole meal bread instead of muffins, with poached eggs and made hollandaise sauce. D said its delicious and have me A*! Woot! He always say I can't cook! Nah! I can cook! To be exact it's only the second time that I actually cooked for him. Hehe.

In return he brought me to bedok camp for early dinner. I've never been there. The hokkien mee is damn awesome. And the Cheng Teng is one of a kind, SHIOK!

Later at night I made rosti at his place for supper. Love spending time like this. :) bf and good food !!

Valentine's Day 2013

How's your Valentine's Day 2013?

My Valentine's date every year is my family because its Daddy's birthday! Valentine's day is so overrated but which girl doesn't like to be showered with roses, and nice dinner?? But still, it's ridiculous that roses are doubled the prices during this special day! And roses died after awhile.

Anyways, for me, it's a simple dinner with family and bf at a dim sum restaurant at Jcube and a last min fun baking. :)
It's been a week since I last saw D cos I was in Malaysia for the CNY and we didn't see each other for a week. Super delighted to see him last night. :) really glad that he's so happy to see me and gave me a tight hug when we see each other. Usually he'll be so shy to even hug me. Haha.

He followed us home after dinner and went to shop for groceries for my red velvet cupcakes. It was a last min decision.

And during the msia trip, cousin and me went to shop for vday presents and I got two things for him. :) One - something I know that he wants. Two - the thing that he caught him looking at when we go for shopping a couple of times. I'm so proud of myself for being this observant! D now say that this two gifts are his ammunition at work. :) but lousy bf didn't buy me anything at all. Sad. He need to go and repent!

I got my Mum to cut this hair because his hair was hideously long. While he's getting his hair cut, I got all the ingredient measured and prepared. And after that I had a good time instructing him how to get the cake batter mixed. He did all the dishes. Hahaha! It's so good to instruct him. Since he had a hair cut. He much provided from free labour in the house. :P

Very glad that the cupcakes turn out good!!!! This is way better than having expensive dinner and overpriced roses. Doing things together and having fun. Quality time :)

I need a bigger voice

Sometimes people tend to remember people with big voices and forgot all about the people with small voices.

Welcome to the reality.

I did my part and I know what I did.
